FLOORING PLUS ROCHESTER
Even if the warmer months are beckoning us to spend more time outside, your floors most likely need a full spring cleaning, which can brighten up your house.
How do you start? That would rely on the kind of flooring you have in each space. Different floor coverings will need different deep cleaning procedures; some will need a bit more attention than others.
These pointers have been compiled by us to make the procedure easier for you.
CARPET.
Make an appointment for steam cleaning and expert carpet cleaning from a well-regarded company.
Use a carpet cleaner to revitalize and refresh your flooring if you wish to do a deep cleaning on your own. You can buy or rent one.
Spot treat any stains on your carpets after giving them a thorough vacuuming. Stains should be spot-treated as soon as they appear, but if you happen to miss a couple, use a stain remover and make sure to use paper towels to absorb all of the moisture.
Examine your carpets closely to determine their condition. It is best to have any tears or damage fixed or replaced because ugly loose threads and tears will probably get worse. They could potentially be a trip hazard.
It’s obviously time for an upgrade if, even after giving your carpets a good spring cleaning, you’re not thrilled with them. You’ll also be happy that you did. The upkeep of carpets has significantly improved in recent years.

VINYL.
You can use a wet mop on these floors since the majority of luxury vinyl tile and sheet vinyl are waterproof.
Either use a neutral pH cleaning solution or warm homemade vinegar. If your floors are extremely filthy, dilute the vinegar and water mixture with a few drops of dish soap. After that, to remove any leftover residue, wash the floors once more with clean, warm water—not hot.
Avoid using abrasive scrub brushes: While vinyl flooring is generally resilient, using an abrasive cleaning pad might cause scratches in the wear layer that protects the flooring.
When dealing with an obstinate stain or area, use a soft-bristled brush to clean it. Food stains may usually be removed with a paste made of baking soda and water, whereas stains from cosmetics can be removed with rubbing alcohol or nail paint remover. Make careful to use water and a fresh cloth to remove any remaining residue.
HARDWOOD.
If your hardwood floors are beautiful, you should do the following to maintain its best appearance:
Let’s start by sweeping. Dust off any dirt, dust bunnies, or other debris with a microfiber mop or a broom. On bare floors, a vacuum can be used; however, a beater bar might harm hardwood floors.
After lightly misting the floor with a mild pH-neutral cleaning solution or the suggested wood floor cleaner, buff dry with a clean cloth. When using a mop, only use enough cleaning solution to make the mop damp; otherwise, the wood will become saturated and may cause harm to your flooring.
Consider having your ancient hardwood floors refinished or perhaps replaced by a professional if they have seen better days. Our collection of engineered hardwood flooring is excellent, and all of them require less upkeep and cleaning.
